New parental controls on Ideatalk
from ideatalk on 06/27/2026 09:39 PMWe have introduced new systems to protect users under 18. These systems help parents manage their kids acccounts.
HOW DO THESE SYSTEMS WORK?
These systems work with age groups every user is assigned to an age group and below this text is how age groups work on Ideatalk
5-9 Years old - Can only access Ideatalk Kids
10-12 Years old - Must have a parent linked to their account and some features like uploading videos is restricted
13-15 Years old - Having a parent account linked is not obligatory but some features like Premium and Movies are blocked
16-18 Years old - This age group is considered as Pre-Adults. No parental linking allowed, some features are still blocked.

Does this affect my kids or my verification
Yes, it affects your kids verification. Starting now only 18+ users can be verified. Verification for teens (13-18) requires parental consent and kids(5-12) cant be verified on Ideatalk.
